Saint For The Day
I included this page on the site to make a somewhat easier way to navigate through the different saints. I think that the calendar layout is little more friendly as this is a Liturgical Calendar. I hope to someday turn the entire book into an audio book so that people can listen to it on their way to work or while they are jogging or just sitting at a computer screen editing a website.
The Saint for the Day is important section of the website. I would say that about 1/2 to 1/3 of the collection covers the lives of the saints and all that they have done for the Church and of course for God. They fight against the wicked enemy of all mankind - Satan. Some of these Saints have gone through so many trials and tribulations and -if you would like to call it- adventures. Think of all of the journeys of St Paul, or St. Francis walking to Rome, or the traversals of Spain the Teresa of Avila endured.
Making great trips around the world can be fun and exciting but unless one moves closer to God then everything else is vein. The Baltimore Catechism tells us that we are here to Love God and to serve God that we may be happy in this life and eternally happy with him in Heaven. By studying each Saint we can learns about the period in which they lived.. We can learn about the political intrigues, the wars, famines, persecutions, and triumphs of the Church over all of these. This a very interesting way to study history - to look at the lives of the saints.
